A snowy day, without sun, but with lot of fun! Our day started with the ~Video Awards~ which put everybody in a good mood, having nominees, winners and trophies for 3 categories: funniest, most creative and most popular. I – Valérie, ambassador of Nanyang Technological School in Singapore – was so proud when my team won “Funniest video”, they are hilarious people. Then it went on with an interesting presentation about the case, which brought a competitive atmosphere to the Bronfman Building. As Professor Donovan was going through important rules, we saw all teams chatting between each other and already planning their next steps. Questions were flowing, to the point where we got over schedule and had to delay all our activities of the afternoon!
To bring us back together as part of the MMICC family, we then had a group picture. “You look like you’re enjoying this 6/10, but I want a 10/10”, said the photographer, as everyone was already thinking about lunch time. What brought a smile on participants’ face was the t-shirt exchange, where everyone traded one of their school’s shirt for one of another school. During this time, ambassadors and executives were taking a break and having a photoshoot, because we all want souvenirs of the great time we are having.
For the afternoon, everyone went in different ways in four activities: laser tag, ice skating, Montreal Biodôme and Museum of Fine Arts. Our group including members from Thailand, Melbourne, Singapore and Hong Kong made their way to an indoor skating rink. Some participants showed their Olympic worthy skills while others hobbled along trying out skates for the first time. Everyone enjoyed getting a chance to have some physical activity before we headed to a night at the museum for our opening ceremonies.
We arrived at PAC for a cocktail setting before receiving a tour of ancient archaeological sites. Teams had a chance to learn about Quebec history with a guided tour. We then had the chance to watch a multi media show about the history of Quebec. Right after that, we went to our tables for dinner which was A-MAZING. Teams had a chance to chat with others, since we were separated from our usual groups. Great evening, lovely chants, amazing family: MMICC.
